Dear Jenny Rei,
(posted July 3, 2007)
tales from the crypt..
a long, long time ago in a galaxy far away (naboo was under an
attack? nah..) there was a young maiden who has a lovely stone - a
one of a kind, a very rare find, an extraordinary one that even precious gems
would fade in comparison..
she'll never forget the day she found that stone.. she was walking around
in an enchanted forest when she saw it - proudly glittering on the root of that
big old but powerful tree.. she was about to pick it up when an old man
approached her saying that the stone was his.. sadness filled her lovely
face but she just couldn't give up.. she hesitantly asked the old man if
she could have the stone.. he looked at her with a knowing smile and said
"i'll let you borrow it for a year, then come back here after.." as
he handed her the stone..
"i don't understand, what for?" she said..
"let the stone decide if it wants to stay with you or not.."
"how could we know?"
smiling, he said "that stone is no ordinary one, it'll let you know how it
feels in its own magical way.. you'll know what i mean as time pass
by.."
she nodded as she uttered her thanks to the old man and leave..
she instantly felt fondness for the stone, she likes it very much.. she
carries it with her anytime and anywhere she goes.. she cried with it,
laugh with it and even grow with it.. and as the old man say, its indeed
magical.. it can channel its emotion by changing its shade.. it
turns blue as the sky when the young maiden is lonely and sad, red as the flame
whenever she's upset and in rage and yellow as the sunflower when she's happy
and at peace..
one merchant saw the stone and appraised it that widened the young maiden's
eyes.. though living in a lower-class, she was never tempted to the
merchant's offer to buy the stone and so she respectfully declined.. and
many other tough situation that would lead to the stone's separation with
her.. but she managed to keep the stone, not only because she knew it
wasn't hers but because in her heart she have learned to treasure it and value
it like no other..
one year rapidly pass and its now time to return to the enchanted
forest.. her heart breaks as she saw the old man waiting for her on that
same big tree.. "have you learned something about the stone?"
he starts.. she nodded as she tell everything she noticed on the
stone.. she cried on the tough and sad part and with misty eyes on the
light and funny part.. the old man just observe and listen to her..
"i think that the stone likes you" he concluded.. "and you
know what that means?"
"you don't mean.." she stopped in mid-sentence, failing to
contain her happiness..
she unconsciously kissed the stone as the old man nodded and to her surprise,
it shakes and glow and break..
"an egg!? its impossible! im certain it was a
stone!" she exclaimed..
and the "egg" hatched a blinding light that hurts the young maiden's
eyes so she shut it for a while.. and when she opened it, a young man was
standing in front of her, lovingly gazing at her..
"i've waited so many years for you.. the spell could only be broken
by you and i'll remain a stone even if it takes forever if you didn't find
me." said the voice that melts her heart..
"me? why me?"
"you're more special than you think, milady.." the young man
replied..
"well.." interrupt the old man.. "my work here is
done.. i wish you two happiness that you truly deserve.. young
lady.." he said as he turned to her.. "your love broke
the spell and along with it, your care, and the way you cherished the stone
makes the difference.. many have tried but they couldn't even reached as
quarter as your intensified feelings.."
"love is strong and will always find a way, never forget
that.." his parting words as the old man vanished into thin air..
"don't make me wait further, i swear i'd die this instant, so please be
mine now.." he begged..
with loving eyes she said "with all the love that i posses, i'll be
forever yours.."
"lets stay together in this life no matter what.. i know we'd
actually met only now, but i feel like i've already known you all my
life.."
"same here, my love.. same here.." she closed her eyes as
they shared the kiss that shatters everything around them and as passionate as
their love..
