Dear Jenny Rei,
(posted July 17, 2007)
to all the girls he loved
before.. (part1)
they became "them" on july 28, 1997.. she was
inlove - truly, madly, deeply, crazily, blindly.. she couldn't ask for
more, she's pretty sure the whole world may rot into hell for all she care but
as long as they're together, she'll be fine and nothing could come between
them..
or so she thought..
then there came IVY around march 1998.. a sophomore student that
time.. he got a chance to teach computer lesson on that certain public
hschool and caught the young lady's heart and so her bestfriend,
bernadette.. its a common story between bestfriends to fall for the same
man and it actually threaten their friendship.. ivy's quite a beauty and
came from a well-off family.. he got interested in her but couldn't take
her much because, as the first paragraph shows, he already has a girlfriend..
but is it bad to flirt once in a while on other girls? most women would
answer a definite "yes" on that.. and most men would surely
utter a coy "of course not"..
and as the story goes, he indulged the young girl's feelings behind his
girlfriend's knowledge, of course.. flattery is his cup of tea and the
young girl wasn't immune to that.. she fall and fall and fall each day,
not minding and not really caring if her "loving computer instructor"
is already taken.. she gave him lovenotes and pictures of herself as a
remembrance..
one day, the gf saw ivy's picture on his wallet.. she ripped it in no
time and asked him for an explanation which he rolled into a simple "its
nothing.." another day she saw ivy's lovenotes saying "wag ka
namang mamangka sa dalawang ilog.. blah blah.." she maybe
stupid coz its crystal clear that her bf is definitely courting that girl for
her to say such words, but still she let that pass..
another day *again*, another picture *again*.. she asked if he still have
some of ivy's picture but he said "no more".. until she found
out one day that his "no more" is just another lie.. but still,
as stupid as she can be, she let it pass..
after her class, she went to visit the public hschool (that used to be her alma
mater) where he teach.. she find him sitting there with his friends,
while listening to the group of girls (including ivy) who's singing angela
bofill's i honestly love you.. later that day she found out that that
song was ivy's themesong for her bf..
august 1998, one of their friend's bday.. he said that the celebration
would be for the boys raw so its better for her not to come.. she agreed
and bid them "farewell" and kissed him "enjoy"..
life continued to roll for them, he closed the ivy issue by assuring her that
he has nothing to do with the young girl anymore.. as stupid as she can
be, she believed him..
august 1999, bday of the same friend again.. since he made her come this
time, she served coffee that night.. the celebrant commented "ang
tamis naman, parang yung kape ni ivy last year ah.." it was too late
for him to take back what he said..
"kape ni..ivy..last year?" she looked around but nobody wants
to meet her gaze.. all along, she thought she could be their friends
too.. so dumb of her to believe that, there were nine of them, nine of
them who knew the whole story and yet nobody, nobody told her the truth behind
that "for the boys" excuse that they all weaved just for her to not
to come last year and for ivy and her bf to have that night..
devastated beyond compare but stupid as hell, she let it pass, for the nth time
*again*..
